Video gaming and social media have become ever more popular and, for many, are enjoyable parts of life. For a growing number of people, however, gaming and/or social media use can become difficult to manage with increasing amounts of time spent engaging in it until it starts to impact or even take priority over other important aspects of life such as educational, work or social commitments. Despite significant consequences, individuals find themselves unable to limit or stop their usage, feeling out of control, distressed and ashamed.
At Innisfree Therapy, our Intensive Programme for Compulsive Gaming and/or Social Media Use is designed in collaboration with you to create an individualised mix of Individual, Trauma, Group and Psychoeducational psychotherapy to best meet your individual needs and circumstances. Your programme is then delivered by our team of highly experienced therapists who work concurrently, collaborating and responding to your process session by session. Through this process, we help you identify triggers and uncover the underlying issues which create this distressing cycle of behaviour, whilst offering guidance and strategies to help manage urges and regain control.
Intensive Programmes for Compulsive Gaming/Social Media Use can take place at our premises in Central London, via Zoom, or a mix of both, depending on individual circumstances and location. Impacted partners or family members can also access individual support with us as desired.
