James Earl

James Earl is a psychosexual and relationship therapist from London. He holds a Professional Certificate in Psychosexual Therapy, a Postgraduate Diploma in Relationship Therapy, and a Masters Degree in Social Work from The University of Sussex.

James is an experienced clinician recognised for his warm, inclusive work style. He is trained in psychodynamic, systemic, existential and cognitive-behavioural therapeutic models on a solid basis of person-centred listening skills.

James specialises in working with couples and individuals suffering from loss of desire, in recovery from affairs, and on different problematic sexual behaviours.

Rather than seeing so-called addiction as a form of illness, James views such behaviour – along with many other mental health issues –  as attempts to solve more fundamental underlying problems.

Much of James’s work mixes therapy with psycho-education, where the client is invited to ask questions and explore issues together, like a confidential personal seminar.

James has also been a professional jazz pianist, and a university professor teaching philosophy.
