Chemsex Recovery Programme

Specialist support for adults seeking to stop chemsex and build sustainable recovery

Group therapy, chemsex program

About the programme

Chemsex can become deeply entwined with connection, coping, sexuality and escape. Many GBMSM people find that what may have begun as relief or belonging can, over time, become associated with loss of control, heightened risk, emotional exhaustion and harm.

We understand that stepping away from familiar communities can feel isolating or bring a sense of disconnection — you do not have to navigate this alone.

This structured group programme offers a safe, professionally facilitated space to understand your relationship with chemsex and begin building a realistic and supported pathway into recovery.

What you’ll gain

Participants are supported to understand the psychological, relational and behavioural patterns that can shape chemsex, develop practical tools for emotional regulation and relapse awareness, and explore recovery within a safe and confidential group setting.

Programme details

The programme runs as a rolling six-module group over six consecutive weekends, allowing participants to join at any point in the cycle and complete the full programme.

Modules explore themes including chemsex as a survival strategy, digital triggers and online sexual culture, relapse awareness and safety, sexual desire and cravings, sex-positive recovery, and building recovery capital for sustainable quality of life.

The programme includes a 90-minute online group on Fridays, in-person therapeutic work across weekends, and bi-weekly aftercare following completion. Sessions are facilitated by specialist clinicians working from trauma-informed, GBMSM sex-positive and kink-aware, recovery-focused models.
